Joshua Overload 1
I just realized how lacking this blog is. It's lacking in Joshua pictures and videos. So for the next while, I'm going to be posting a TON of pictures and videos of cute little Joshua! :) He's my favorite! (Translation: I finally got around to taking pictures and videos of my camera, and now that my house is somewhat clean I don't feel guilty getting on to blog. Joshua is my favorite!)
Here is the first gem of a post. These are from August. Captions below each picture:
Joshua loves bread.
Maybe he just likes tearing apart the bread. Usually I just give him pieces, but I thought it'd be fun to see what would happen with a whole piece.
Josh-o-lantern.
How'd this one slip in here!? Sarah-o-lantern :)
Joshua playing with his friend Spencer at play group in the park. They were "sharing" Joshua's Tonka truck.
Whoops, Spencer fell over trying to crawl away.
Henry comes over to play.
Joshua can look up to Henry and say "ok, in 3 months, I can do that, too" They're best buds.

What to say?
I haven't posted because nothing really has been happening. Nothing worth documenting really. I even installed a blogger app on my phone so I could post easier without getting my laptop out, but meh. Here are the highlights from the last few weeks:
I got this new app on my phone called Pocket Frogs that is really fun.
I read the Hunger Games series (loved it! food for thought.)
I read The Help (loved it! also food for thought, and giggles)
I picked a million green tomatoes before it froze
I haven't picked my grapes yet
I'm working on my secret project (almost finished! I really need to finish, like yesterday!)
I got the nursery, hallway, hall closet, bathroom, and our bedroom mostly baby-proofed.
Joshua started to crawl (hence the above) - ok, this is worth blogging about, but i need to get a good video and pictures of it first.
I read "Goodnight Moon" to Joshua almost every night because it's the only one he will sit still through patiently (maybe because we read it so often?). He sometimes makes an "ssss" sound after I say "and a little old lady whispering 'hush'"
We have company stuff and Dave's job stuff going on, but that needs to be on the D.L. until later notice.
Currently - I have a cold. My nose gets clogged when I sit still or try to sleep (usually one nostril or the other...never evenly) and today it turned into a cough and now I sound like a man when I talk. Lovely. Feel sorry for Dave because I'm a huge whiner when I'm sick, especially if it involves clogged nostrils.
Now I need to go empty the trash cans because it's trash day! (oh the things I get excited about these days...)

Oh, Crap!
Since the hum-drum trip to St. George didn't really seem to inspire comments, here's a post that might:
Yesterday I was changing Joshua's diaper (yes, it's going to be one of those stories) and as soon as I took it off he peed everywhere. He doesn't do that as nearly as often as when he was a newborn, but it still happens occasionally. Since it was 7:15 pm and he had had brief naps all day, I decided it wasn't worth cleaning him up, re-dressing him, just to strip him down for a bath in half an hour. So it was time for an early bath. I would just let him play a bit longer in the tub.
Usually for bath-time, I fill the tub, then I go get Joshua ready for the bath. Yesterday had to be backwards based on circumstances. So I plopped him, stark naked, on the bath mat and his towel while I filled the tub. While I was filling it, I looked down to see the face.
All mothers know the face and some non-mothers can even recognize it. This one was unmistakable. He was grimacing and bright red. Yep, it was happening.
All I could do was gasp, "AH! don't poop! don't poop! don't poop!" I wisked him off his towel just in time but I didn't save the bath mat. I am so glad it's washable. It also sounds a lot worse that it was.
After that whole experience I had to wonder, "Why didn't I just hold him over the toilet literally inches away from me?"
I hope there is never a next-time to learn from my mistakes.

St. George
We go down to St. George about every 3 or 4 months for business. I usually tag along because I can and then we stay at the timeshare resort that we are members of down there.
This time I was really excited about bringing some of my projects and not feeling guilty when I work on them because there really isn't much that I'm procrastinating down there (nothing to clean up/out, no mounds of laundry or dishes to do or put away).
Unfortunately, our first day there Joshua and I woke up with a cold. To top that, Joshua had a diaper rash from the drive down. To tippy top that he is still trying to get those darn molars in. (He has the front 8 teeth and the bottom two molars are making him miserable.)
Needless to say, I got nothing done the first two days we were there besides changing lots of diapers and slathering on the diaper cream (or should I spell it creme?).
That's ok though, he started feeling better and we had a blast the rest of the time. We went swimming and had my cousin and his wife came over for dinner one night and I sewed some stuff.
I will have to post pictures later though.

9 Months
Whoops I skipped the 6 month update with doctor stats and all. Oh well. Here's the 9 month one.
Today was Joshua's 9 month well-check appointment. I'm thinking with following children I may skip this one. It's kind of pointless unless there's something that you're really worried about. They poked his heel and his blood levels look great. They looked in his ears and listened to his heart and the like.
He weighs 18 lbs 9 oz. and is 29 inches long. I can't remember the %'s so I'll have to update that later. He's waking up from his nap currently so off I go!
